Principals and Practice

Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is a traditional system of choreographed movements, breathing techniques, and meditations used for the purposes of health, spirituality, and martial-arts training, originally developed in ancient China. The purpose of Qigong is to cultivate and balance qi, loosely translated as "life energy."

Our approach to Qigong and Tai Chi is based on the understanding that conscious-control of your mental, physical, emotional and energetic state is essential to the path to living healthier, living with purpose, and to living up to your potential.

Many believe the point of Qigong and Tai Chi is to learn the forms or the practice. In truth, it is the underlying principles, not the forms or the practice that hold the greatest power. The principles are the way that the goal is achieved, and the forms and practice are the tools through which the principles are applied. Achieving the intended outcome of improved health, reduced stress or optimum performance relies on the integration of principals and practice into our everyday life.
